Merry Christmas!

This year my company decided to close its doors one day before christmass eve to compensate for boxing day holiday that this year is on Saturday. To that end we have been off since Thursday! It has been great so far.
We ended up doing our Christmas shopping in peace mostly because I planned ahead. On Christmas eve. before we go to my mom's house for dinner, Pishi booked 2 tickets for "Avatar" for us. We watched the movie in IMAX 3D version. This was yet again a heuristic movie, bad vs. good. The difference was that there dialogues that were controversial. The movie was great in its effort in creating a fantastic virtual scenarios and back and forth between real and virtual scenes. I think this movie could have been shorter with the same content but at the same time, I hope people really get the message underlying the movie. I have read a number of critics write ups for this movie and some how it reminds move of the movie "300". A number of those critics pointed out issues that I used to point out for the movie "300" and I must say, now that I am on the other side of the table, I can see both point of views.

Anyways, party was great and the gifts were cool. I really enjoyed them. Christmas day we went for lunch to my mom's place and watched an Iranian movie called "old man's killers". It was supposed to be a comedy but I must say, it wasn't that funny and it was very slow. We ended the night by coming home and watching a few of "The big bang theory" episodes. I have been addicted to that show. I think the writers of that show are brilliant!
